Andriy Favorov leaves Naftogaz

Andriy Favorov leaves his post of director of the integrated gas business of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, as well as acting general director of JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannya. This was reported by the press service.

Oleksandr Romaniuk temporarily serves as Director General of JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannya.

It is noted that personnel changes take place within the continuation of the transformation of the Naftogaz group. The gas production and sales activities were combined into one division within the duration of PSO.

Since May 1, 2020, Ukraine has committed itself to completely liberalize the gas supply market to domestic consumers and to provide conditions for competition in this segment. PSO is terminated, and then Naftogaz adapts the structure to new market conditions and reviews the integration logic.

The integrated gas business, according to plans for further transformation of Naftogaz of Ukraine, will be divided into two divisions — production and commercial activities.

Under the leadership of Andriy Favorov, the division optimized the gas production program, introduced an assessment of the economic efficiency of investment programs and continued to diversify gas supplies from Europe. Ukraine started the heating season 2019-2020 with record gas reserves over the past 10 years due to this work. This strengthened the position of Naftogaz in negotiations with Gazprom on transit, which ended successfully for the country.

“I thank my team, the entire Naftogaz team for this amazing experience. A year and a half is not the period for which it is worth loudly reporting. Yes, we kept gas production, reduced production costs. But, in my opinion, the main thing that was done was to reload the function of labor protection and industrial safety, to initiate changes at all levels of the company regarding issues of safe production, the value of life. I want to especially note the contribution of people who work directly “on the wellbore”. Those who every day – even in today's difficult days – provide gas production. Decent pay, safety and working conditions in the workplace have always been the focus in my work. Take care of yourself! “, added Andriy Favorov.
