Price indices of the DAM in the IPS of Ukraine in April

The second month of quarantine in Ukraine was marked by a decrease in prices on the day-ahead market compared to the previous month. The average weighted price on the DAM decreased by 9.07% in April 2020 and amounted to UAH 1,265.04/MWh (excluding VAT), according to Market Operator.

The average weighted price decreased by 9.24% in the IPS of Ukraine and amounted to UAH 1,243.87/MWh (excluding VAT).

In April, hourly prices deviated significantly from price restrictions due to a decrease in electricity consumption in Ukraine as a whole and, as a result, a decrease in the volume of applications for purchase on the DAM and IDM. So in April, the average daily declared purchase volume on the DAM in the trade zone of the IPS of Ukraine was 90,476.5 MWh, compared to 123,892 MWh in March 2020.

The total volume of purchase and sale of electric energy on the day-ahead market and the intraday market amounted to 3,299.3 GWh. This is 27.93% less than accepted in these market segments in March 2020.

The total cost of purchased-sold electricity on the day-ahead market is UAH 4,283.13 million (including VAT), and on the intraday market – UAH 704.53 million (including VAT).
