5.8% more electricity: results for the first 4 months of 2021
All the power Ukrainian power plants have produced 54615.7 million kWh for 4 months of 2021, which is 2977.7 million kWh, or 5.8% more compared to the same period in 2020. This is evidenced by data published by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
Hydraulic power plants produced 3,676.4 million kWh for 4 months of 2021, which is 1,391.5 million kWh, or 60.9% more compared to 4 months of 2020.
TPPs produced 13,028.7 million kWh, which is 1,786.7 million kWh, or 15.9% more than for 4 months of 2020.
Nuclear power plants produced 29,007.4 million kWh. Compared to the corresponding period of last year, NPPs increased electricity production by 119.8 million kWh or 0.4%.
Renewable electricity production (wind farms, solar power plants, biomass) amounted to 3305.7 kWh for the 4 months of 2021, which is 2.3 million kWh, or 0.1% less than in the corresponding period last year.
CHPs and cogeneration units produced 5,010.5 million kWh, which is 276.9 million kWh, or 5.2% less than in the corresponding period last year.
For 4 months of 2021, NPPs produced 53.1% of electricity, TPPs and CHPPs – 33.0%, HPPs and PSPs – 6.7%. For 4 months of 2020, nuclear power plants, thermal power plants and combined heat and power plants, hydroelectric power plants and pumped storage power plants amounted to 55.9%, 32.0% and 4.4%, respectively.
