This week, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Production published a forecast balance of electricity for the first month of 2019. According to the document, 15,627 million kWh (-0.3% of last year’s plan) of electricity will be generated in January, of which 8,090 million kWh (+ 13.6% of last year’s plan) should be generated by nuclear power plants. The remaining half of the planned volume will be produced: TPPs - 4,686 million kWh (-15.6%), СРPP - 1,658 million kWh (-1.2%), hydropower plants - 731 million kWh (-7.1 %), HPP - 121 mln kWh (-21.9%), renewable energy sources - 195 mln kWh (+ 39.3%), block-stations - 146 mln kWh (+ 1.4%).
Also in January 2019, it is planned to export 560 million kWh of electricity, which is 20.4% more than the planned figures for the last year.
At the same time, the gross electricity consumption in Ukraine will be 14,900 million kWh.
It should be noted that “Energoatom” did not approve the predicted production volume for NPPs proposed by the Ministry of Energy and Coal Production. The key argument of “Energoatom” is that in January two power units of the Zaporizhzhya NPP will be inoperative due to repair work.
