6.5% more electricity was produced for 8 months 2021than in 2020
For 8 months of 2021, the volume of electricity production by power plants that are part of the UES of Ukraine reached 102 640.2 million kWh, which is 6 244.2 million kWh or 6.5% more compared to the corresponding period of 2020, testify data of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
At the same time, TPPs and CHPs generated electricity by 1,067.8 million kWh, or 3.4% less than in the corresponding period of 2020 and amounted to 30,153.5 million kWh. For 8 months of 2021, nuclear power plants generated electricity by 4,139.6 million kWh, or 8.1% more compared to the same indicator in 2020 and amounted to 55,274.9 million kWh. The installed capacity utilization ratio since the beginning of 2021 has amounted to 53.9% (for the corresponding period of 2020 - 53.1%).
Electricity production by HPPs and PSPPs amounted to 7,541.0 million kWh and increased by 2,521.3 million kWh or 50.2% from last year.
For 8 months of 2021, the production of electricity by renewable energy sources (wind farms, solar power plants, biomass) increased by 817.0 million kWh or 10.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2020 and amounted to 8 568.8 million kWh.
Electricity production by power plants of other types (block stations and other sources), compared to the same indicator in 2020, decreased by 165.9 million kWh, or 13.1%, and amounted to 1 102.0 million kWh.
For 8 months of 2021, thermal and nuclear power plants and district boiler houses supplied 14 352.3 thousand Gcal of heat, which is 1,590.3 thousand Gcal (or 12.5%) more than in the corresponding period of 2020.
