Centrenergo promises to pay off the debt to mines by the end of August

By the end of this month, the amount of settlements with state coal mining enterprises will amount to more than UAH 400 million. Thus, Centrenergo will 100% complete settlements with miners, the press service of the enterprise reports.

“We hope that these funds will help the mines to increase production, and as a result – to reduce the cost of production and make the working conditions of miners safer,” the message says.

The state power generating company managed to obtain resources for settlements for coal produced by the state power generating company due to the sale of electricity at an auction for the period until the end of the year.

Centerenergo reminded that long-term difficult negotiations with state banks with the participation of the Ministry of Energy on opening a credit line for settlements with domestic mines did not yield any results. Oschadbank refused categorically, Ukrgasbank still did not give an answer.

Therefore, Centerenergo expects systemic and principled decisions of the government to correct the crisis situation in the energy market. The company presented its proposals to pay off debts and save the coal industry of Ukraine to the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Energy and NEURC.

In particular, bringing the coal price of state-owned mines closer to the market one, as well as establishing equal and transparent conditions for all players in the electricity market, regardless of ownership.
