UEEX launces trade section for electricity imports

The Ukrainian Energy Exchange is ready to launch a separate direction for trading electricity with its further imports, the press service of the UEEX reports.

“The Ukrainian Energy Exchange has already held auctions for trading electricity with its further imports. Currently, we are ready to launch another direction for holding such auctions. The UEEX has worked out a mechanism needed and there is a suggestion to launch a special trade section,” the message reads.

Moreover, the centralized market for electricity bilateral contracts is seen to perform well and proves to be more advantageous than direct contracts since they unlock the possibility of abuse.
