On April 20, 2021, NNEGC Energoatom and JSC Turboatom signed a contract for the manufacture and supply of a turbine condenser for power unit No. 1 of the Zaporizhzhya NPP. Under the terms of the contract, Turboatom will manufacture and supply a modular condenser to Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. The contract value is UAH 525.8 million, the press service reports.
The production and shipment of condenser equipment for ZNPP-1 is planned to be completed by the end of May 2022. The cost recovery will be around 8.5 years.
“This is a very important event for the company. Energoatom has been confidently implementing a five-year program to modernize the equipment of 15 power units of four Ukrainian nuclear power plants since August 2019. New capacitors are already in operation at three ZNPP units (No. 2, 3, 4). The production of a capacitor for power unit No. 5 is nearing completion. For 2023, such work is planned at power unit No. 6 of ZNPP," said acting President of NNEGC Energoatom Petro Kotin.
General Director of JSC Turboatom Viktor Subbotin, in turn, said that this is an important contract for machine builders because it means an order worth half a billion hryvnia and the workload of the enterprise for more than a year. “I am very grateful to Energoatom for their trust,” he added.
Replacement of capacitors at power units of Ukrainian NPPs will provide an increase in the electrical capacity of the turbo equipment by at least 15 MW. Therefore, the next work is expected at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
Recall, NACP sent the administrative protocol to the court regarding the acting President of NNEGC Energoatom.
As reported, Energoatom and Ukrenergo tested the ZNPP power unit to enter the market of ancillary services.
