Energoatom appoints interim head of Zaporizhzhia NPP

SE NNEGC Energoatom, by an order of April 2, 2020, entrusted the temporary execution of the duties of general director of Zaporizhzhia NPP with Yurii Kulba.

Yurii Kulba graduated from the Bauman Moscow Higher Technical School, majoring in Energy Machines and Installations.

After graduation in 1984, he was accepted to the post of reactor operator at the reactor department of Zaporizhzhia NPP. He went through all the stages of operational management in the operational unit from the shift supervisor of the reactor shop to the deputy technical director for operation – the head of the operational unit.

From September 2011, he was appointed Deputy Chief Engineer for Operation of Zaporizhzhia NPP. In 2016, he temporarily acted as chief engineer (first deputy general director) and general director of Zaporizhzhia NPP.

Zaporizhzhia NPP is the largest energy facility in Ukraine and Europe with an installed capacity of 6,000 MW. The first power unit was commissioned in 1984, the second in 1985, the third in 1986, the fourth in 1987, the fifth in 1989, the sixth in 1995.
