SE NNEGC Energoatom held a meeting with representatives of NuScale Power, during which the American side presented the technology of a small modular reactor, the press service reports.
The videoconference was attended by Acting President of NNEGC Energoatom Petr Kotin, Vice President of the company Herman Halushchenko, co-founder and chief technical director of NuScale Power Jose Reyes, as well as representatives of the State Nuclear Regulatory Agency and the State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety (SSTC NRS).
The reactor module, licensing and operation of which was discussed by the parties, can be used not only for the supply of electricity but also for the production of hydrogen and water demineralization, as well as for joint work with wind turbines.
As a reminder, Energoatom and Turboatom signed a UAH 525 million contract.
As reported, the Servant of the People faction would consider the candidacy of the Vice President of Energoatom for the post of Minister of Energy.
