Power unit No. 1 of South Ukraine NPP was taken out of repair ahead of schedule – Energoatom

NNEGC Energoatom informs that power unit No.1 of SUNPP was taken out of repair 11 days ago.

Medium planned preventive maintenance (PM) at power unit No.1 of South-Ukrainian NPP was completed in 46 days, while 57 days were planned for it. On September 18, 2020, 11 days ahead of schedule, the power unit was connected to the grid.

“In general, during the repair process, specialists have carried out more than 5,000 repair and reconstruction works, the main goal of which is to improve the safety and reliability of operation of the first power unit of South Ukraine NPP,” the message says.

As of September 21, the equipment of power units No.1, 2 and 3 of SUNPP is operating in the specified mode. The first and third power units, due to balance constraints, bear the load of 515 and 623 MW, respectively. The second one operates at a nominal capacity of 1018 MW.
