Power unit No.2 of ZNPP is connected to the power system

NNEGC Energoatom informs that on November 22 at 21:07 the power unit No.2 of Zaporizhzhia NPP was connected to the grid. It is noted that the unit is gaining power as planned. In 7 hours, it will reach 750 MW, and in 20 hours – the nominal level of 1000 MW. Thus, already 5 out of 6 ZNPP power units will operate at full capacity.

During the repair, which lasted 104 days, the planned routine and over-routine work were performed at the power unit. In particular, major and medium repairs of the main and auxiliary equipment were carried out. Also, the activities planned as part of the implementation of the Comprehensive (Consolidated) Program for Enhancing the Safety of NPP Power Units were carried out.

Currently, 5 power units of the Zaporizhzhia NPP are in operation. Power unit No.5 is undergoing 221 days of scheduled medium repair.

Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a list of priority investment energy projects for the period until 2030.
