Power unit No.2 of Zaporizhzhia NPP disconnected from the power system

Since September 1, 2021, the power unit No. 2 of the Zaporizhzhia NPP has been disconnected from the power system and put under medium planned preventive maintenance, which, according to the application, will approximately last until the beginning of December, the press service of Energoatom reports.

Three out of six power units are currently operating at ZNPP. The total capacity of the generators is 2850 MW. At power unit No. 4, 11 days of planned average repairs continue, and at power unit No. 5, 124 days of scheduled medium repairs.

In total, 11 out of 15 power units are in operation at nuclear power plants of Ukraine. As of September 1, 2021, the available capacity of NNEGC Energoatom is 9305 MW, the current capacity is 9240 MW.

To recap, NNEGC Energoatom and Westinghouse signed a Memorandum on the construction of new power units in Ukraine worth up to $30 billion.
