Guaranteed buyer sued Ukrenergo UAH 614 million

The Economic Court of Kyiv partially satisfied the claim of the state-owned enterprise Guaranteed Buyer against NPC Ukrenergo "and decided to recover UAH 614 million from the defendant in favour of the plaintiff, Finbalance reports.

Of the total amount, UAH 215.7 million is a fine, UAH 193.1 million is a penalty, UAH 65.65 million – 3% per annum, UAH 138.9 million – an inflation index.

Guaranteed Buyer motivated its claims by the fact that for the period March-April 2020, Ukrenergo violated the agreement on the provision of services to ensure an increase in the share of electricity production from alternative sources.

At the same time, the Kyiv Economic Court is considering Guaranteed Buyer’s claim against Ukrenergo to recover UAH 25.7 billion. At the same time, Ukrenergo announced claims for UAH 2.1 billion.

Ukrenergo's tariff for electricity transmission should cover the shortage of Guaranteed Buyer’s funds for payments to electricity producers at the “green” tariff. According to Guaranteed Buyer, as of July 20, Ukrenergo's debt to it, which is the source of payments for the FIT, amounted to UAH 18.7 billion.

To recap, Guaranteed Buyer transferred payment for April last year to renewable electricity producers.
