President Volodymyr Zelensky must make operational decisions to ensure the functioning of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission, as timely certification of a new gas transmission system (GTS) operator depends on it. This was stated by Head of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission Oksana Krivenko.
“The adoption of any decisions depends on whether the Commission has a quorum... The law provides for the possibility of appointing members of the Commission temporarily, for three months, without competition. I hope this process will not be delayed, given the crucial issues that need to be solved today... We are awaiting appropriate decisions from the President of Ukraine”, Krivenko said.
Recall that Oleksandr Formahey and Yevhenii Mahlovannyi left the Regulator. Both were appointed according to the results of open competitive selection on May 29, 2018. They call this decision the opportunity to "reset the Regulator with new people and ideas”.
