The satellite town of nuclear power plants was closed due to coronavirus

In the city of Energodar, quarantine was introduced, as two employees of Zaporizhzhia NPP were tested positive for coronavirus. This decision was made during an extraordinary meeting of the regional commission on technological and environmental safety and emergency situations in Zaporizhzhia region, Ukrinform reports.

“In the city of Energodar, cases of coronavirus were detected, two of which were among workers of the nuclear power plant. Now it is necessary to check all employees of Zaporizhzhia NPP. Therefore, it is proposed, in addition to the city of Zaporozhzhia, Melitopol and Berdyansk, to recognize the city of Energodar as a quarantine zone,” said Roman Terekhov, chief state sanitary officer of Zaporizhzhia region.

Earlier it was reported that an employee of Energoatom Directorate was tested positive for coronavirus.
