NEURC checks regional power distribution companies due to consumer complaints

The National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission, at its meeting, made a decision on unscheduled inspections of 17 regional power distribution companies and 26 regional gas companies due to consumer complaints.

NEURC, upon the request of consumers, will check 17 regional power distribution companies, including Vinnytsiaoblenergo, Volynoblenergo, Poltavaoblenergo, Kharkivoblenergo and others.

The Commission will also conduct an unscheduled on-site inspection of Prykarpattiaoblenergo JSC and Prykarpartenergotrade LLC in the electric power industry to identify inaccurate data.

According to numerous requests from consumers, the regulator will also check 26 regional gas companies, including Kyivoblgaz, Dniprogaz, Kryvorizhgaz, Poltavagaz, Rivnegaz.

To recap, NEURC and Naftogaz promised to prevent a sharp increase in gas distribution tariffs.

Earlier, NACP asked six members of NEURC to provide explanations on the conflict of interest.
