The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed an official investigation against the head of Energoatom

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has appointed an official investigation against the Acting President of NNEGC Energoatom Pyotr Kotin, having created a special commission, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

According to the promulgated order, the commission must conduct an official investigation within two months.

The investigation is carried out in accordance with the Law on the Prevention of Corruption and in order to fulfil the order of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) dated March 3, 2021, the order says.

NAPC in its order indicated the illegality of the dismissal from the post of Director for the Prevention of Corruption – Advisor to the President of NNEGC Oleh Polishchuk

In a comment to the agency, NAPC noted that the specified order of the Cabinet of Ministers is essentially a technical and procedural document approved to fulfil the formal requirements of NAPC regarding the implementation of its instructions.

"The order does not affect anything, since by a number of court decisions, in particular, the Shevchenko District Court of Kyiv dated May 28 and April 16, all the proceedings initiated by the NAPC were closed earlier due to the lack of corpus delicti," Energoatom explained.

To recap, NAPC sent an administrative protocol to the court regarding the head of NNEGC Energoatom Petro Kotin.
