Cabinet to cut electricity prices, but not for everyone

The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to reduce the electricity tariff but only for households consuming less than 250 kWh per month. For them, the tariff will be 1.44 UAH / kW.

This was announced at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, reports Liga.Business.

For those Ukrainian families who consume more than 250 kW, the tariff will remain unchanged – UAH 1.68/kW, Shmyhal added.

The new tariff will be introduced on October 1.

To recap, ex-acting Minister of Energy Olha Buslavets criticized the government's intentions to change the PSO model and reduce the price for household consumers – in her opinion, this will increase prices for goods and services and reduce the cost of repairing networks.
