The Cabinet of Ministers bans privatization of Naftogaz, Ukrenergo, Energoatom

Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk said in Telegram that the government had approved a list of enterprises that were not subject to privatization.

In particular, enterprises that ensure energy independence and state defense are not subject to privatization, are natural monopolies, and are critically important for society.

“Moreover, we will tighten control over the proper use of property and the effective management of strategic state-owned enterprises that are not subject to privatization”, he said.

The list includes enterprises in whose authorized capital the share of corporate rights owned by the state cannot be less than 50% + 1 share: Naftogaz of Ukraine, Ukrtransgaz, Ukrtransnafta.

The list, in the authorized capital of which the share of corporate rights owned by the state is 100%, of state unitary and state-owned enterprises that are not subject to privatization includes: Ukrenergo, Energoatom, Ukrhydroenergo.

Now the draft law should be considered and approved by the Verkhovna Rada.
