Kalush CHPP was returned to state ownership – Gerus
Chairman of the Energy Committee Andriy Gerus announced that the Commission for the consideration of complaints on state property under the Ministry of Justice canceled the re-registration of Kalush CHPP and returned it to state ownership.
“This is good news for Ukrainian citizens – the enterprise has been returned to state ownership. This is good news for miners of state mines of Lviv-Volyn basin, the production chain of coal mining-sales-consumption will be preserved. This is good news for the organizers of attempts to withdraw Kalush CHPP from state property, because less years in prison are given for an attempted theft than for a completed crime”, he wrote.
Recall that in May the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine transferred the Kalush CHPP from state to communal ownership of the city of Kalush. This decision was made, not including it on the agenda of the government meeting. CHPP was transferred to the communal ownership of the city of Kalush, the mayor of which was formerly Minister of Energy Ihor Nasalik.
