Tests to participate in the ancillary services market began at Burshtyn TPP

NPC Ukrenergo reported that the testing of power units of Burshtyn TPP for compliance with the requirements for the provision of ancillary services has begun.

“On June 9-12, power units No.7 and No.10 were tested for the ability to provide services for an automatic frequency recovery reserve in the amount of 70 MW, with a manual frequency recovery reserve in the amount of 70 MW and a replacement reserve in the amount of 140 MW,” the report said.

It is noted that the specialists of Ukrenergo analyze the results.

In general, tests for compliance with the requirements for the provision of ancillary services are planned at 11 power units of Burshtyn TPP.

In the trading zone of the IPS of Ukraine, 11 power plants can participate in auctions for the purchase of ancillary services. Of these, eight are hydropower plants that are part of the state-owned Ukrehydnoenergo, Kurakhovska TPP DTEK Vostokenergo, Kharkiv TPP-5, and Zaporizhzhia TPP DTEK Dniproenergo.

To recap, Zaporizhzhia TPP became a participant in the ancillary services market at the end of May.
