Electricity consumption increased only on weekdays last week – Ukrenergo

NPC Ukrenergo informs that during the last week of July the level of electricity consumption in the power system of Ukraine amounted to 2.51 billion kWh. At the same time, the growth took place only on weekdays. In particular, the average daily consumption on weekdays increased by 2% (370.3 million kWh against 363.3 million kWh). However, this is still 1.2% less than in the same period in 2019 (374.8 million kWh).

At the weekend, the average daily consumption decreased by 6.3% compared to the previous week (329.2 million kWh versus 351.2 million kWh).

Daily production of electricity (according to operational data) from solar and wind power plants (SPPs and wind farms) ranged from 24.9 million kWh (August 2) to 35.1 million kWh (July 27). Electricity production from wind farms and solar power plants, compared to the previous week, decreased by 12.8%, from 247.1 million kWh to 215.5 million kWh.

Most of all SPPs were produced on July 29 - 29.4 million kWh, and wind farms – on July 27 (16.2 million kWh).

Dispatching commands were not given to limit wind farms and solar power plants during the week.

In general, the share of SPP and wind farms in the structure of electricity production for the week compared to the previous period decreased by 1% (down to 8%).

The average daily production at nuclear power plants during July 27 - August 2, compared to the previous week, practically did not change (190.4 million kWh versus 190.5 million kWh).

The total load of the NPP during the week was 8 GW.

The total electricity production of nuclear power plants from July 27 to August 2, according to operational data, amounted to slightly more than 1.33 billion kWh. The share of nuclear power plants in the total production structure was 51%, which is 1% less than in the previous week.

The total electricity production at hydroelectric power plants during the last week of July amounted to 141.7 million kWh (vs 144.4 million kWh in the previous one). At the same time, the average daily electricity production at hydroelectric power plants decreased by 2% (from 20.6 million kWh to 20.2 million kWh). In turn, the PSPs produced 23.6 million kWh during the week).

The aggregate share of HPPs and PSPs on July 27 - August 2 was 7% of total production (unchanged from the previous week).

Electricity production at TPPs during the specified period amounted to 647.4 million kWh vs 589.8 million kWh in the previous week. The share of thermal power plants in production increased by 2% to 25% over the last week.
