An emergency shutdown of power unit No.7 occurred at Slavyanska TPP

Slavyanska TPP (PJSC Donbasenergo) on January 17 had stopped power unit No.7 for emergency repairs. The board of PJSC Donbasenergo reported in the information disclosure system of the National Commission for Securities and Stock Market (NCSSM) on January 18, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“On January 17, 2021, at unit No. 7 of Slavyanska TPP, the main equipment failed due to increased vibration of the first bearing of the turbine unit, which led to an emergency shutdown of the power unit from the Ukrainian grid. Now there is no generation at power unit No. 7, repair work has begun,” the generating company said.

According to preliminary information, power unit No.7 will be under repair for at least 60 days.

According to NPC Ukrenergo, as of January 19, only one power unit No.3 with a load of 59 MW is in operation at Slavyanska TPP.

Slavyanska TPP bore an increased load during the 4th quarter of 2020 and from the beginning of 2021 due to the shift in the repair campaign at the NPP.

In November 2020 the Cabinet of Ministers approved the list of priority energy investment projects for the state until 2023, including Donbasenergo.
