Outbreak of coronavirus at the BelNPP construction site

Rosatom reported about a hundred cases of coronavirus cases at the BelNPP construction site, Interfax reports.

Head of Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, said that not only employees of Rosatom’s structures, but also a Belarusian customer company, were ill. The state corporation also found out about one case of coronavirus infection at its construction site in Egypt.

He added that there is “the hottest time” at the facility now, and in the coming weeks, the corporation plans to “obtain a license and go on physical start, while protecting staff as much as possible.” In general, he called the situation on foreign sites of the state corporation “controlled,” but requiring “utmost attention”.

According to Likhachev, Rosatom continues to transport employees to and from foreign facilities.
