IAEA scheduled inspection is ongoing at Zaporizhzhia NPP

From September 6 to 11, 2021, inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are conducting a scheduled inspection of Zaporizhzhia NPP’s dry storage facility for spent nuclear fuel, the press service reports.

During the mission at the NPP, IAEA inspectors will: check the actual availability of the amount of nuclear materials (NM) at the SNF site; verify the information about the design of the installation and accounting, operational and reporting documents on NM.

The inspection takes place within the framework of an international agreement between Ukraine and the IAEA for the implementation of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

To recap, power unit No.2 of the NPP was disconnected from the power system.

As reported, Zaporizhzhia NPP shipped the first batch of medical oxygen.
