On October 13, 2020, detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), following the procedural guidance of the SAP, informed the director of a private company about suspicion of complicity in organizing the provision of unlawful benefits to a former official of a separate subdivision of NNEGC Energoatom. The press service of NABU reported this.
The actions of the person are qualified under Part 5 of Art. 27, Part 2 of Art. 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Thus, the number of people involved in the crime has reached three people: in September, the People's Deputy of Ukraine of the VIII convocation and the Deputy General Director of the separate division of NNEGC Energoatom were informed about the suspicion.
"The investigation, in particular, established that in 2017, an official of a separate subdivision of NNEGC Energoatom, abusing his official position, agreed for UAH 929 million with a company controlled by the ex-people's deputy. According to him, this company was to build Centralized storage of spent nuclear fuel from VVER reactors of nuclear power plants in Ukraine. Subsequently, the construction costs of the storage increased to UAH 1.36 billion. However, the facility has not yet been put into operation, "the statement says.
During 2017-2019, the Energoatom official received free of charge from another company headed by the director of the LLC, and also controlled by the ex-people's deputy, three apartments in new buildings in Kyiv with a total value of almost UAH 4.42 million, which, according to the investigation is an undue benefit.
NABU detectives have investigated these facts since April 2020.
As a reminder, Energoatom revealed violations during the construction of the CSFSF.
Earlier, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine obliged Energoatom to intensify work on the construction of a storage facility for spent nuclear fuel.
