NEURC simplifies connection to the power grids of DSO

The National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission approved the draft resolution "On approval of Amendments to the Code of Distribution Systems" (Amendments), the press service reports.

These changes were approved to simplify the connection of consumers to the power grids based on the proposals of the Office of simple solutions and results, which were discussed at the meeting of the National Council of Reforms chaired by the President of Ukraine V.A.Zelensky on 09.29.

These changes provide for:

  • defining contracts for connection to electric grids by the operator of the distribution system by the public;
  • optimizing the list of documents for the application for accession;
  • making it easier for customers to accept the terms of the agreement on connection to electric networks;
  • features of joining industrial parks;
  • informing consumers about planned and unscheduled power supply interruptions and the like;
  • clarification of requirements for the classification of small distribution systems, in particular for the functioning of future industrial parks.

 The proposed changes are aimed at improving the norms of the Code of Distribution Systems and to help improve Ukraine's position in the World Bank's “Doing Business” rating.

It is noted that the changes will be published on the NEURC website to receive comments and suggestions from stakeholders, which will be considered at open discussions of the draft resolution.

“We urge all market participants to participate in constructive discussions and provide their comments and suggestions to this project,” said Chairman of the NEURC Valerii Tarasiuk.
