NEURC increased the price caps on the energy market

The National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NEURC), at a meeting on Wednesday, increased the price caps on the day-ahead electricity market (the DAM) and the intraday market (the IDM), Interfax-Ukraine reports.

For hours of minimum daily load in the power system (from 12:00 p.m. to 07:00 a.m. and from 11:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m.), the price cap will be UAH 1 243.71/MWh, for hours of maximum load (from 07:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.) – UAH 2 655.99/MWh.

“We are following the path of liberalization so that the market receives the correct price signals,” said NEURC Chairman Valerii Tarasiuk at the meeting.

To recap, since the launch of the electricity market, the volume of electricity sold on the day-ahead market and the intraday market has decreased.

As reported, the Ministry of Energy wants to make auctions for the sale of electricity mandatory.
