Privatization of Centrenergo is scheduled for the second quarter of 2021

The head of the State Property Fund said that Centrenergo planned to be privatized in the second quarter of 2021, Economichna Pravda reports.

He signed a decree on the creation of a tender committee to determine the privatization adviser.

“Despite the fact that the privatization process lasts from 9 to 11 months, we plan to sell the company in the second quarter of next year,” Sennychenko said.

According to him, careful preparation will precede the sale of the enterprise.

“Our main goal is the privatization of this asset, which for many years has been such a corruption feeder for all governments. In order for no one to want to manage this enterprise, it must be quickly promoted for privatization,”the head of the State Property Fund emphasized.

Recall, on October 29, 2018, the State Property Fund announced a tender to sell shares of Centrenergo at a starting price of UAH 5.98 billion. A sale was scheduled for December 13, 2018, the competition had to be held if there were at least two participants, one of which was foreign.

The auction did not take place. Documents of interested companies, in particular Ukrdoninvest LLC and the Oil Bitumen Plant (Belarus), were not allowed to participate, as the documentation they had submitted did not meet the requirements of the law.

On May 29, 2020, the Supervisory Board of PJSC Centrenergo unanimously decided to terminate the duties of General Director Volodymyr Potapenko and appointed Oleksandr Korchynsky Acting General Director of Centrenergo.
