The downtime of NPP units in the spring strongly influenced the maintenance schedule of Energoatom – Kotin
During his visit to the Zaporizhzhya NPP on December 23, Interim President of the State Enterprise NNEGC Energoatom Petro Kotin said that due to quarantine restrictions in the spring, and as a result, the downtime of power units, Energoatom had moved repairs for the winter, Kosatka.Media reports.
As the power units were pulled out for standby, the company goes through the winter period with four units under repair.
“This repair schedule has been planned for many years. It was lined up to match the energy consumption schedule completely: summer, spring, fall, winter so that everything would match. Now, since this intervention took place, this schedule has been disrupted. In January-February, we could produce 1000 MW more, but we cannot do this because our unit is under repair,” Kotin said.
As reported, Ukrainian thermal power plants will burn an additional 500 thousand tons of coal to cover the deficit of electricity at the nuclear power plants.
