The Verkhovna Rada adopted Law No.5600, which applies to the energy sector
Today, on November 30, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the second reading and general tax law No.5600 "On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine and Some Legislative Acts of Ukraine to Ensure the Balance of Budgetary Revenues", which also contains changes in the energy sector of the country, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
The law provides for imposing the excise tax (3.2%) for renewable electricity.
Also, the law increases the rate of the environmental tax on carbon dioxide emissions up to UAH 30/ton, the previous rate according to the Tax Code was UAH 10/ton.
It remains the lowest carbon tax rate in Europe.
