NSDC monitors the situation in the energy market

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Oleksiш Danilov said that the NSDC monitors the situation in the Ukrainian electricity market, it is currently under control, reports Ekonomichna Pravda.

“What is happening on the electricity market is under control. We are monitoring the situation related to this incident, although the word incident is not very correct. We understand what is happening there,” he told reporters.

Regarding whether the NSDC will take up the issue of the collapse of prices on the electricity market, Danilov said: “For this, a meeting of the NSDC will be necessary - I cannot say yet. The final decision on the agenda is made by the President as the head of the NSDC”.

As a reminder, the price of electricity in the day-ahead market as of July 4 fell to a historical minimum in 2021 of UAH 426.06/MWh, which is 35.9% lower than the price prevailing on July 3 and almost 3.5 times lower than the price on July 1. The National Commission has taken urgent measures due to manipulations in the electricity market.

The AMCU also said it sees signs of anticompetitive concerted actions in the electricity market.

Earlier, the Ministry of Energy announced the initiation of the introduction of a "blacklist" for unscrupulous participants in the electricity market.
