The weighted average price of electricity is UAH 1,263.03/MWh on the DAM in June

The weighted average price of electricity accepted on the DAM in June 2020 is UAH 1,263.03/MWh (excluding VAT), which is 1.2% more than the May price. This was reported by Market Operator SE.

The weighted average price of electricity in the IPS of Ukraine is 1.35% higher than the price for May and amounts to UAH 1,221.23/MWh (excluding VAT).

The weighted average price of electricity in June, compared to May, decreased by 2.71% and amounts to UAH 1,621.24 / MWh (excluding VAT) in Burshtyn energy island.

The average weighted price for June is UAH 1,189.17/MWh (excluding VAT) on the IDM.

The IPS of Ukraine: the weighted average price of electricity in June increased by 0.26% and amounts to UAH 1,187.96/MWh (excluding VAT).

Trade zone of Burshtyn TPP: the price compared to May is 12.13% less and amounts to UAH 1,311.94/MWh (excluding VAT).

In June, hourly prices on the DAM and IDM in the trade zone of the IPS significantly deviated from price restrictions.

“This is due to a decrease in demand and a surplus of offers for the sale of electricity on the day-ahead market and the intraday market. Offers exceeded demand by more than 2 times. The volume of applications for the purchase of electricity on the DAM compared to May decreased by 14.5%,” the report said.

In the Burshtyn TPP trade zone in June there was a shortage of offers for the sale of electricity at night, so prices in the nighttime did not deviate from price restrictions.

The total volume of purchase and sale of electric energy on the day-ahead market and the intraday market in June 2020 is 20.15% less than the May volume and amounts to 2,447 GWh.
