The weighted average price for electricity at the DAM in March amounted to 1391.23 UAH/MWh

The weighted average price of electric energy accepted in March 2020 on the day-ahead market amounted to 1 391.23 UAH /MWh. This is 9.42% more than in February, Market Operator reports.

The weighted average price of electricity in March increased by 11.24% and amounted to 1,370.54 UAH /MWh in the IPS of Ukraine compared to February.

On Burshtyn Energy Island, the weighted average price decreased by 5.44%, and compared to the previous month amounts to 1,587.41 UAH/MWh.

On the intraday market, the weighted average price of electricity amounted to 1,360.29 UAH /MWh. This is 20.88% more compared to the price of electricity in February.

In the IPS of Ukraine, the weighted average price of electricity compared to February increased by 21.82% and amounts to 1,354.83 UAH/MWh.

Trade zone of Burshtyn TPP: the price is 1,701.28 UAH/MWh, which is 24.89% more than in February.

“In March, hourly prices significantly deviated from price restrictions – so-called price caps, only at night on the DAM in the trade zone of the IPS of Ukraine prices were close to price caps. This is due to a decrease, compared with the month of February, of bids for sale with a low level of price offers at night, ”the report said.

The total volume of purchase and sale of electric energy on the DAM and the IDM in March is 4578 GWh. This is 0.21% less than in February 2020. The total cost of purchased-sold electricity on the DAM in March amounted to UAH 7,040.23 million (including VAT), on the IDM – UAH 589.53 million (including VAT).
