Ukraine may completely switch to urban electric transport by 2030

The press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure, citing Head of the Department, Vladyslav Kryklii, reported that Ukraine, within the National Transport Strategy, plans to replace all urban public transport with an electric one completely and create the appropriate infrastructure for this by 2030, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

".. In this direction, we are now actively cooperating with international financial organizations and are preparing for the implementation of the second phase of the joint project with the EIB "Urban Public Transport of Ukraine II", which provides for the renewal of public transport parks in various Ukrainian cities and their replacement exclusively with electric transport," said Kryklii during the Global e-Mobility Forum, organized by the Polish Ministry of Climate and Environment.

He noted that, together with business and the public, the Ministry had developed a draft strategy for the development of the automotive industry in Ukraine, which provided incentives for the domestic production of electric cars and took into account the popularization of private and public electric transport.
