Ukrenergo revamps overhead line, which is to connect UESU with ENTSO-E
NPC Ukrenergo has reconstructed the 220 kV Lviv Pivdenna - Stryi overhead line. This line is of great importance in the synchronization process of the UESU with ENTSO-E, the press service of NPC Ukrenergo reports.
The overhead line is to connect the main part of the Ukrainian energy system with Burshtyns TPP island for working in silos (in winter and summer), which precedes the synchronization of the UESU with ENTSO-E.
Simultaneously with the reconstruction of the overhead line, a new fibre-optic communication line (FOCL) was built.
The key advantages of fibre-optic communication lines are high throughput and transfer speed, as well as insensitivity to electromagnetic effects of overhead power lines. The entire modernization project provides for the reconstruction of six overhead lines including laying 414 km of fibre-optic communication lines. In particular, it refers to overhead lines of the 330 kV Lviv Pivdenna substation - the 220 kV Rozdil substation - the 220 kV Stryi substation - the 220 kV Boryslav substation - the 220 kV Volovets substation - the 400 kV Mukachevo substation – the State border of Ukraine.
“The implementation of the entire project will allow connection of telecommunication networks of NPC Ukrenergo with neighbouring networks of ENTSO-E countries (Slovakia, Romania, Hungary) and ensure reliable and high-speed exchange of technological data between operators of transmission systems following European requirements,” the statement says.
To recap, all members of the Supervisory Board of NPC Ukrenergo were approved.
As reported, Ukraine provided emergency assistance to the Polish power grid.
