Ukrenergo is suspected of causing damage to the state by UAH 13 million

The Prosecutor General’s Office suspects Ukrenergo employees and company contractors in overpricing the cost of equipment and service when purchasing three shunt reactors, Economichnna Pravda reports.

Losses are estimated at UAH 13.04 million. This is stated in the decision of the Kyiv Pechersk District Court. Investigators found that in 2018-2019, during the re-equipment of the Zapadnoukrainska substation with the replacement of shunt reactors “C”, the general contractor Soyuz KVKP introduced deliberately inaccurate information about the cost of the reactors and unlawfully set the price for transportation and installation.

According to law enforcement agencies, for the purchase, Ukrenergo officials formed the expected cost of work and equipment, which includes the price of reactors of UAH 33 million.

Although according to the official response of the manufacturer, Zaporozhtransformator, the reactors were sold at a price of UAH 28.7 million, 15% cheaper.

It is noted that the contractor Soyuz did not purchase the reactors from the manufacturer, but through the related intermediary firm Energosnabzhenie, as a result of which the reactors were sold to Ukrenergo at an inflated price of UAH 33.1 million.

The court granted the petition of the Prosecutor General’s Office and seized the money in the accounts of Soyuz KVKP in Bank Vostok, Yuzhny, Ukrgazbank, JSC PUNB and in the State Treasury Service, stopping expenditure operations with funds received in the accounts, in addition to making mandatory payments to the budget and payroll.
