Ukrenergo will hold an auction for the import of electricity from Russia and Belarus

NPC Ukrenergo announced an auction to be held for interstate intersections, including with the Russian Federation and Belarus on October 27, Ekonomichna Pravda reports.

According to this procedure, bids from participants are provided to the auction office on the day of the auction.

On October 25, Ukrenergo cancelled the monthly auction for November 2021 in pursuance of the court decision on the claim of DTEK.

According to the text of the decision, the court recognized that the text of Resolution No.763 of the National Tariff Commission had signs of inconsistency with the law.

The District Administrative Court of Kyiv recognized DTEK's arguments regarding the “violation of its rights and interests, taking into account the restrictions imposed by the transmission system operator in terms of reducing the capacity that was allocated to them for the applicant”.

As a reminder, Energoatom guarantees the use of all NPP units, if necessary.

Earlier, NEURC extended the ban on the import of electricity from Russia and Belarus until November 1, 2021. The members of the commission also noted that in the future this issue will depend on how the accumulation of coal will take place.
