Ukrenergo paid another 250 million UAH for payments on the “green” tariff

NPC Ukrenergo transferred another 250 million UAH to the account of SE Guaranteed Buyer to compensate for the cost of purchasing renewable electricity on the “green” tariff.  This was reported by the press service.

In total, to date Ukrenergo transferred 704 million UAH to the Guaranteed Buyer, or 44.5% of the total predicted amount of the advance payment for July 2019, which is 1.58 billion UAH.  The final amount of the required payment will be formed after the closure of the current month.

The extra money that Ukrenergo receives today on the recommended payment is spent according to the priorities that the company determined immediately after the court blocked the new tariffs: for the purchase of electricity to cover technological losses in the networks and for payments to the Guaranteed Buyer to compensate for the costs of purchasing renewable electricity on the “green” tariff.

Compensation for renewable energy is a special obligation assigned to Ukrenergo in accordance with current law.

Recall that NPC Ukrenergo paid 454 million UAH to SE Guaranteed Buyer to compensate for the cost of purchasing renewable electricity on the “green” tariff.

As previously reported, the Kyiv District Administrative Court had temporarily suspended Ukrenergo tariffs for the second half of 2019 to secure the lawsuit of the Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant and several other enterprises.  Therefore, in July 2019, the company issued bills for its services at the old tariff, valid until July 1, 2019 – 5.740 kopecks per kWh.  At the same time, a new column “Recommended for payment” appeared in the bills, in which new tariffs for the second half of 2019 was used: 347.43 UAH/MWh – for transmission services and 8.90 UAH/MWh – for dispatch (operational-technological) management services.  Later, on August 1, the court changed the measures to secure the claim so that the tariffs remained suspended only for the party of the plaintiff.
