Energoatom believes that it is necessary to put an end to the discussion of the preservation of nuclear energy

The vice-president of Energoatom German Galushchenko, stressed that it is time to stop speculation as to whether Ukraine needs to preserve nuclear energy. He believes that it is worth putting an end to this discussion - generation will develop, the press service reports.

“There is no doubt that nuclear energy will continue to develop,” emphasized German Galushchenko. - This is proved by the decree of the President of Ukraine "On urgent measures to stabilize the situation in the energy sector and the further development of nuclear energy" dated September 22, 2020. We are grateful to the head of state that he personally took such a position because lately, it was challenging to prove that it is impossible to destroy nuclear generation, which is not only the basis of the domestic electric power industry but also remains one of the few high-tech sectors of the Ukrainian economy " ...

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, by his Decree "On urgent measures to stabilize the situation in the energy sector and the further development of nuclear energy," obliged the government to take comprehensive measures to pay off the debt for electricity produced and supplied as part of the JI, that is, special duties to ensure public interests.

The President also instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to speed up the preparation and implementation of the corporatization of Energoatom and, soon, to take over the functions of managing the company.

Earlier, Energoatom reported that the construction of power units No.3 and No.4 of the KhNPP does not require budgetary funds.
