In July, electricity consumption approached the indicator of 2019 – Ukrenergo

NPC Ukrenergo informs that in July 2020, according to operational data, electricity consumption in the power system of Ukraine approached the indicators of July 2019 (net, excluding losses in power grids) and amounts to 9.24 billion kWh (by 0 7% less than in July 2019).

In July, there was an increase in consumption of the chemical and petrochemical industry by 14.9%, population – 4.7%, household consumers – by 4.3%, construction – by 3.3% and other non-industrial consumers – by 0.6%. At the same time, the largest decline over the specified period was demonstrated by the machine-building industry (-15.2%), the transport sector (-12.5%) and agricultural consumers (-10.9%).

In general, the level of industrial consumption in July 2020 decreased by 3.2% compared to July 2019.

In January-July 2020, electricity consumption increased in comparison with the same period in 2019 only among the population – by 2.6%, the chemical and petrochemical industry – by 16.9%. At the same time, in total, during the specified period, consumption by the machine-building industry (-19.1%), transport (-17.1%), public utilities (-9.7%) and construction (-8.5%) decreased.

In general, the consumption level of the entire industry in January-July 2020 decreased by 5.5%.
