Electricity worth millions of hryvnias was stolen in Kyiv region

Three residents of Kyiv region built an illicit crypto mining facility that stole electricity, the SSU press service reports.

The perpetrators rented a hangar room in the Buchanskyi district and equipped the facility. According to preliminary estimates, the damage amounted to more than UAH 3.5 million.

The crypto mining farm was connected to an electrical substation bypassing the meter.

During the search, law enforcement officers seized equipment for a total of more than UAH 6 million.

Within the criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, investigation is ongoing.

To recap, the SSU reported that the head of the state mine had financed the so-called “LPR”.
