The Cabinet of Ministers published the main provisions of the Economic Stimulation Program to overcome the consequences of restrictive measures to prevent the onset and spread of coronavirus disease.
It provides for ensuring the financial stability of the system, ensuring the transparency of the market system and ensuring the sustainable development of the power system. In particular, the revision of electricity tariffs for the population and viewing a feed-in tariff.
“Under quarantine, the energy sector suffers losses associated with reduced consumption by industry and the public. Manual regulation of the market led to a drop in prices in the electricity market and a shortage of funds to cover the operating costs of electricity producers,” the plan says.
Earlier, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that the Cabinet of Ministers did not plan to raise electricity tariffs for the population this year.
