Ukraine to strengthen the protection of NPPs and HPPs
Due to the threat of exacerbation of Russian aggression, Ukraine will strengthen the protection of critical infrastructure, the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar said.
The Air Force units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are on alert around the clock in the air defense system of Ukraine. More than 1,000 servicemen and hundreds of units of military equipment are on duty, which provides cover for bridges, hydroelectric power plants, nuclear power plants and other critical infrastructure facilities.
“Taking into account the military-political situation on the state borders of Ukraine, measures have been taken to strengthen the air cover of these objects in the threatening areas,” the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
To recap, the power unit of the South Ukraine NPP is connected to the grid, 14 units are working the power system.
As reported, it is planned to increase electricity production by 2.5% next year.
