The Verkhovna Rada supported the draft law on Ukrenergo’s certification in the first reading

The Chairman of the Energy Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Andrii Gerus, wrote in his Telegram channel that the Verkhovna Rada had supported the draft law on Ukrenergo’s certification in the first reading.

“The draft law was supported by all factions and groups, except for Batkivshchyna and OPZZH. 274 votes in favour,” he wrote.

This draft law makes it possible to certify the transmission systems operator NPC Ukrenergo following European rules, which is a prerequisite for the integration of the Ukrainian power system into the European one (ENTSO-E).

As a reminder, Ukrenergo plans to join the European energy grid by 2023.

To recap, NEURC is proposing to increase the transmission tariff of Ukrenergo to UAH 316.08/MWh.
