The second unit of BelNPP will be commissioned in mid-2022

The representative of Rosatom, which is building the Belarusian nuclear power plant, Oleksandr Lokshin, said that the second unit of the power plant would be commissioned to the customer in mid-2022, after the start of loading nuclear fuel into the reactor of the first power unit, BelTA informs.

“On the second block we are working on schedule. It should be delivered to the customer in mid-2022,” said Oleksandr Lokshin.

According to him, Rosatom expects to continue cooperation with Belarusian specialists after the commissioning of the nuclear power plant near Ostrovets.

Earlier it was reported that Lithuania asks the United States to respond to the construction of the BelNPP as well as to Nord Stream 2. According to the Minister of Energy of Lithuania, the station poses a nuclear and geopolitical threat to the country and the entire region.
