Zerkal became an advisor to the Minister of Energy

Olena Zerkal, ex-adviser to the chairman of the board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, has become an advisor to the Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko. She announced this on her Facebook page, Kosatka.Media reports.

“Starting this week, I will have an advisory capacity in the Ministry of Energy. I am glad that people have taken the helm of the Ministry, ready to discuss complicated issues and solutions that require painstaking work. The window of opportunity for Ukraine is rapidly closing, I will try to convey this to everyone,” Zerkal wrote.

She also noted that together with the Minister of Energy, they discussed the issue of energy partnership between Ukraine and the EU with European Commissioner Kadri Simson, as well as issues of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

“Ms Simson confirmed that the position of the European side is unchanged on this issue: Nord Stream 2 does not fulfil the function of diversifying gas supplies, the EU does not support the implementation of this project,” she stressed.

To recap, Vitrenko was appointed to head Naftogaz instead of Kobolyev, and the Ministry of Energy was headed by Herman Halushchenko.
