Last week the gas market was pretty stable in its prices from Monday till Wednesday. However, on Thursday there was another decline this year, as a result spot listing of gas prices fell by about 5% at European hubs .According to the Ukrainian Energy Exchange, this decline is explained by the excess supply of gas, large volumes of natural gas available in the EU UGSFs, and the projected increase in wind power, which makes it expedient to use wind power plants. Also, the US and Russia, which increased the supply of liquefied natural gas, contributed to the decline in stock prices.
At the same time, the situation at the Ukrainian Energy Exchange is as follows: price of gas from UGSFs is 7430 UAH/thousand cubic meters, prices in April and May will start from 6989 UAH/thousand cubic meters and 6500 UAH/thousand cubic meters respectively.
It should be noted that Naftogaz established this price in april for industrial consumers on the prepayment basis on the level of 5990 UAH per thousand cubic meters (excluding VAT and transportation cost), while the final gas price for domestic consumers will be 8.38 UAH per cubic meter in April.
