Gas reserves dynamics in UGSFs

gas reserves

As of the end of May more than 11.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas (36.3% of total capacity) is stored in Ukrainian UGSFs. Among the data indicated in the graph, this indicator is the highest by the end of May from 2015, when the gas volume in the UGSFs amounted to 10.1 billion cubic meters (32.7%), at the same time, in 2018, 9.5 billion cubic meters of gas were stored in UGSFs (30.9%).

According to the graph the smallest indicators of each year in the investigated period were in March. It was in March 2018 when gas volumes in the UGSFs were the lowest in the considered time period, reaching 7.6 (24.8%) billion cubic meters. At the same time, the largest volumes of gas were in January, when 12.5 billion cubic meters (40.6%) were stored in Ukrainian UGSFs. As an example 12.5 billion cubic meters of gas were stored in 2018.

In general, in 5 months since the beginning of the year, about 8.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced, while pumping into the UGSFs amounted to 2.5 billion cubic meters in 2019.
